Why did you pick this product vs others?: This works with the maclocks extension that's on my macbook (16-inch M2). The t-bar fits snugly, and the lock mechanism works perfectly. I bought the used-like-new refurbished product from Amazon for less than 10 dollars, and despite how expensive mac-related products usually are, this feels just as high quality. So glad to have it. Of course, a really determined thief can destroy the maclocks extension or attempt to change the passcode, but as most locking mechanisms are, this is a great deterrent.

Cheap Product - 30% chance of a good lock

This product looks good online and the price is good. I bought one and it barely fit the lock space. It took some pressure to get it in to lock. I bought another one for another location and I received the lock. The black plastic was falling out. Mechanism felt loose. Changed the lock number and then couldn't get it to unlock again. Thought it might be me so bought another, this next one I was able to change the code but about busted my laptop pulling it out of the lock as the mechanism was again faulty. You could press the button down but the lock mechanism wouldn't turn. I will say that the cord is strong as I tried to cut it to move my laptop and couldn't do it easily. Ended up mangling the lock port to get it out. Spend the extra money for a brand name lock.
