The 822XL cartridges were nicely packaged and I would otherwise give a top score based on my limited use of them. However, after about a month, Epson apparently did a firmware update and the cartridges stopped working. I could not find a way to contact the seller for assistance, but I left a review noting the issue. Within two days, the seller contacted me and apologized and issued a refund. So kudos to the seller for great customer service. Apparently there's a setting to turn off notice of firmware updates, but unsure if that actually stops printer from doing the firmware updates. If firmware gets updated, the cartridges no longer work.

Bought these a few months ago to replace the cartridges that came with the Epson WF-4820 printer I bought earlier in the year. Install was easy and the images printed were nice and clear. I don't use my printer a ton so by the time the January update came around, the printer would not recognize the cartridges. It is a shame since there is a little quite a bit of ink left in them and they are not useable. Already went down the troubleshooting route with no luck. Wound up purchasing genuine Epson cartridges which were not that much more expensive. I see a lot of other posts regarding the same issue with other users. Not having a lot of luck getting through to the seller for any help. Lesson learned.

Worked fine for one week. After that, Epson performed a firmware update. And all four cartridges no longer recognized. Seller sent replacement immediately with new chip. And they shared the below recommendation: “We are sorry for OEM released a new firmware version. If you update your printer to this firmware, The 822XL ink cartridge may not work. If your already updated the firmware verison, the printer might promot a error message ""ink cartridge is not recognized. Please replace the ink cartridge"" If your printer prompt---""New firmware was found"", we would like to ask you DO NOT update the new firmare version and to click ""No, later""to keep the ink cartridge working.”

Updated review: seller has been extremely responsive to my need and has been great in resolving the issue. Think your Initial Review: Bought to have on hand when my current (standard size) ones ran out but when I put them in the printer—worked one day—now the printer doesn’t recognize them. It’s past my return date because these were my next ones to use… waiting to hear from seller. Very frustrating to be left without printing capability. I’m in a rural area so I’m forced to spend more driving to the city and biy them at a big box store where I can only get the standard and not XL.

Update: Long story short, fantastic customer support. Epsom did a firmware update to my printer which impacted this company's chip for the ink cartridge. This company confirmed the firmware issue and quickly responded back. They're currently shipping me a replacement cartridge. I'm very impressed. Original Review: I purchased this ink and within less than a month it failed and became unrecognized on the printer.

Unfortunately, these cartridges are awful aftermarket garbage. Refurbished is just a fun descriptor for "Hacked off bits of the cartridge to make it fit in your Epson printer." Never worked, and showed "Cannot recognize ink cartridges." Buyer beware, these are a scam and not worth the money. I blame myself for giving this a try; Go genuine only.

I let Epson convince me upgrade software on my WF3820 this past month on my printer and now these cartridges will not work. Forcing me to go out and buy the Epson cartridges retail as I needed printer that day. I know it is not the fault of Wise here but a risk I took trying to save money. I sent Wise an email as I was out of my return window. Today I received a replacement set of cartridges with the new Epson upgrade from Wise. I will now continue to use this product since the company went out of their way to stand behind their product.

All 4 cartridges worked great as far as being accepted by my Epson 3820 printer. All 4 are 822XL which hold more ink. The set of four from Epson only have the black as XL so you not only save money with these remanufactured cartridges but also get more ink. That being said the price is still way too costly for the amount of ink you get. Maybe the price will go down when there is more competition. I have only used the black ink so I can’t comment about the color quality. I will buy these again but can’t say the same for this ink hog of a printer.
