Beautiful large monitor that will be connected to my new M4 Mac Mini when it comes in. Looks great on the M1 version, but I need to see it on the higher res M4 version.

Dissapointment: Apple Cinema HD Displays from 2004-2008 have better picture quality
By M on Amazon on Reviewed in the United States on December 13, 2021
I had an array of 3 Aluminum Apple Cinema HD Displays made between 2004-2008. When one died it was not worth the repair costs and I could not find a decent used one. I read great things about this LG. LG has supplied parts for Apple displays. However this one is a significant letdown. The image quality is flat. By flat I mean regardless of the enhanced mode being on or off or which color profile is used it is relatively dull, lifeless and not as sharp as I expected it to be. I am comparing it with 2008 technology side by side in 2022. The Apple Cinema HD's are almost 3D there is so much life and clarity to the image quality. I am powering these with a brand new Apple Mac Mini M1. I have powered the Apple Cinema HD's with a Mac Mini 2 generations old and an MSI branded NVidia card in a Hackintosh. The image quality has been superior to the LG although the two Mac Mini's produce the best display quality of the three. The Apple Cinema Displays have been running in default mode. It doesn't matter how I adjust the LG 27UP850-W it does not hold up. I also wish I had chosen a 32" because there is not that much difference in size compared with the 23" ACD's. 4k on a 27" display is impractical and once you make adjustments so the text is legible it "feels" so similar you should consider them the same size.
