Absolutely worth it!

I feel like this is an incredibly ideal monitor! The 2k resolution is perfect for the screen size, the hdr works great, and the out of the box color accuracy is the best I’ve seen for a gaming monitor.

not usable as a work monitor, horrible text blur

I really wanted to like this monitor, it checked all the boxes - high refresh rate, gsync, highend IPS panel. Unfortunately it's just not usable as a monitor for any kind of reading text. My setup is a late 2012 27" iMac (1440p resolution) with this viewsonic monitor as second monitor side by side, connected via iMac thunderbolt to viewsonic's HDMI. And a gaming laptop connected via DP. 1) Gaming via the laptop looks good, no issues everything is smooth. 2) However for work as a second monitor to the iMac it is absolutely horrible. Any sort of text in browser/email/word apps etc.. will look blurred and give me a bad eye strain. I will have the window with the text on iMac, a 10 years old display, it would look crystal clear / sharp, move it to ViewSonic and it looks blurred and horrible. I thought i was going crazy, spent hours calibrate the settings...without any luck- turning the blue light filter to 0 helped a little bit, but not by much. It's very difficult to describe the issues, but having the 2 monitor side by side, the difference is very significant. I am not a very picky video snob, but this viewsonic monitor is just not usable for work all day reading text. 3) Just to prove out it's not my cable or iMac connection, i purchased the latest dell ultra sharp 27" 1440p, plug in using the exact same connection / cable, and almost cried. It looked crystal clear, exactly like the iMac display for text. Moving the window with text between two monitors makes no difference - everything is crystal clear. So it's clear the issue is with this monitor. Maybe another way to describe the issue is in the old days, if you ever moved from a high end IPS panel monitor like dell ultra sharp to a cheap TN panel gaming monitor, and try to read text...it's almost the same type of issue. 4) So in the end, i have no choice but to return this viewsonic and using the dell ultra sharp. Sure it's only 60hz refresh and no gysnc, but guess what - games even high movement ones like fps / call of duty plays just as well. I can barely tell the difference. Yet the other way around for work, the viewsonic is not usable. In conclusion, for those of you like me who will use this as a secondary monitor for work, while plays some games on the weekend...do not get this monitor, get the dell. For those of you who play games all day long (miss those days), then maybe get the viewsonic. I am just stunned, how bad this high end monitor with almost all 5 star reviews across the board are at the basics. I guess all the reviews only focused on gaming performance.
