A fascinating design, but falls short due to slight magnifications

This opinion doesn't exactly reflect all of us here, but it does for me, the author behind this specific review. I have known of the Gunnar name for years but never tried a pair on. A few years ago I bought into another option from a company called Altec Vision. It was an affordable pair with a stylish metal frame design. I've been using it ever since and have liked it a lot. So I said, maybe it was time to give Gunnar a try since they have such a reputation to the name. There are things I like about this pair of Gunnar glasses. I like that they very neatly pack them into multiple boxes. Not only will it absolutely arrive in one piece, but it does add to the fun of the unboxing of it. The final box is a storage box for the glasses, lined in felt. Although they also give you a simple drawstring pouch in case the box is too bulky for your needs. I like the level of protection the glasses offer from blue light compared to the more affordable pair I have been using all this time. I also like the idea of the removable arms and the attachable drawstring to use as an alternative way of wearing them, so headphones do not dig into the sides of your head. This can greatly increase the comfort of the wearer. However, they don't look much different from a pair of any other plastic alternative that you'd find on the rack of your favorite discount store. This can be troubling when it comes to the price Most importantly, there seems to be a magnification to them that doesn't seem to be mentioned anywhere. The card that comes in the box does talk about the terms used for various Gunnar glasses and that the company does offer models with certain powers of magnification. However, nothing is mentioned about this pair being one of those. It only mentioned the "amber" tint. Therefore, one would assume this is a normal "natural" pair with no modification to sight. It is an ever-so-slight magnification, but just enough to mess with your eyes when you put it on. Like putting on a very low-power pair of reading glasses. This doesn't work so well since my eyes have near-perfect vision. Therefore, it causes stress to my eyes like wearing a pair of 3D glasses at the movie theater. So that caused a drop of two stars. One of the fact that the effect is there, another for the fact that it isn't mentioned anywhere. **If you have found our review helpful, please vote it as helpful below so we know.
