Smooth and silent
By Tammy on Reviewed in the United States on March 4, 2025
I swore I wouldn't waste any more money on a wireless keyboard, but decided to try a more expensive and thus hopefully better quality one with this keyboard. And it does not disappoint! This is a hefty keyboard, very sturdy materials. The keys are silky soft and silent, like on a laptop, which is exactly what I wanted. The backlit feature is also very nice. You can link this keyboard with multiple devices, and I'm writing this review on my phone, but using the keyboard! The bluetooth connection is seamless with zero lag. I bought it for my office, but I might just have to get one for home, too. I can't speak of its longevity yet, but as long as it lasts throughout its warranty, I'll be happy. I got the silver one, to veer away from typical boring boring black, and it's very nice and different from anyone else at the office. Did I mention the silky smooth keys? Perfectly spaced for my adult female hands, but seem to be large enough to accommodate larger fingers/hands as well.

Great Keyboard with a few flaws
By Nemesio C. on Reviewed in the United States on January 11, 2025
This is my fourth Logitech MX Keys keyboard, and despite some challenges, I continue to enjoy using it. #### My Journey with MX Keys 1. **First Keyboard**: It lasted a few years with no issues. 2. **Second Keyboard**: Accidentally spilled juice on it, but fortunately, it was insured through Asurion, so I replaced it. 3. **Third Keyboard**: Arrived with a damaged key that kept popping off while typing. I returned it within the return window. 4. **Current Keyboard**: While functional, it feels used, with squishy keys. Unfortunately, I don’t have time to return it, so I’m making do for now. #### What I Like About the MX Keys - **Typing Experience**: - Butterfly-style, low-profile linear switches provide a smooth, quiet, and efficient typing experience. - Raised keys offer satisfying feedback, ideal for long hours of work. - **Noise Level**: - The keyboard is exceptionally quiet, making it perfect for my job in a hospital call center where loud typing could disturb calls with doctors or patients. - **Design**: - Sleek, low-profile, and good weight, feels premium. - The keys are easy to locate, ensuring predictable hand positioning. - Stable on the desk, thanks to its weight. - **Backlighting**: - Backlight works well, though it occasionally activates unnecessarily, like when its dark and I am wathcing a video. - **Functionality**: - Full keyboard layout is great for quick calculations and number entry. - Useful function keys for tasks like adjusting backlight, volume, screenshots, and locking the computer. - Seamlessly switches between Mac and Windows without needing a separate keyboard. - **Battery**: - I keep it plugged in most of the time but occasionally let the battery drain to 10% to maintain its health. - **Compatibility**: - Pairs well with the "Logitech MX Palm Rest," providing excellent wrist support for extended use. #### Challenges (Cons): 1. **Key Feel**: - The keys on my current keyboard feel mushy compared to the crisp, clacky feel of a brand-new one. 2. **Cleaning Difficulties**: _ BIG REASON WHY THE LOW STAR RATING - Hair or crumbs under the keys are hard to clean out. Removing the keys risks damaging them, and Logitech likely discourages this. - Spills are especially problematic; unlike mechanical keyboards where individual keys and switches can be cleaned, spills can render this keyboard unusable. 3. **Backlight Quirk**: - While helpful for nighttime use, the backlight occasionally turns on unnecessarily, maybe vibration or something else, seems to turn on randomly sometimes. 4. **Typing Speed**: - My words-per-minute (WPM) is slightly slower compared to my mechanical keyboard ("Rainy 75"), and it’s less satisfying overall, though still adequate. #### Final Thoughts ### Final Thoughts The Logitech MX Keys is a sleek, quiet, and functional keyboard ideal for professional use. Its low-profile switches, intuitive layout, and seamless device switching make it great for extended work sessions. However, it requires careful handling, as it’s difficult to clean and not spill-resistant. While the mushy key feel on my current unit is disappointing, it’s still a reliable option if you prioritize quiet performance and thoughtful design over durability.
