Well built, high quality screen, and at a good price but slightly noisy
By Amazon Customer on Reviewed in the United States on January 20, 2022
I have used this laptop for a month now. I had it imported into a non-US country. Pros: -The screen is of a great quality with rich colors; making graphic and video related work, a pleasure. -It does handle most workloads with ease (Word, web browser, Spotify, photo editing software, all at the same time), however freezing and jittering can happen if the drivers are not up to date, or buggy. -It does not seem to have any issues with Windows 11. -Great customizability for the RGB keyboard. -The USB Type-A and Type-C ports, and RJ45 port also eliminate the need to have a dock plugged in, most of the time. -Nearly the entire laptop chassis (except for the bezel around the screen) is made from aluminum and it feels really solid. -There are enough vents to keep the laptop sufficiently cooled. -Value for money! I spent a while looking for something in this price range and the closest competitor was the Aero 15. There was the Zephyrus G15 too but that was out of my price range. With the great deals they offer on this laptop, it might be the best option in terms of value for money. Cons: -The fans are on, nearly all the time; and it is not a quiet whirring but more of like a aircraft waiting on the taxiway in the distance kind of whirring. You are able to hear them whirring from the adjacent rooms in your home too! I decided to turn the GPU and CPU fan speeds to 0% (when the temps are cool) in the included MSI Center Pro software, so with light loads, they do not come on. -The speakers do not have much sound below the 200Hz frequency, so there is not any oomph or low end bass - even with adjusting the EQ settings in the Nahimic Companion. Things can sound quite boxy. They get averagely loud. -The webcam is...well, it's a webcam. It's OK enough for online meetings. -The included MSI Center Pro software is very buggy. It's the go to app for managing driver updates, fan speeds etc. but it crashes a lot and can sometimes hang while installing driver updates. -When you do update your BIOS, the computer restarts and the fans go on max speed, which could scare you if you don't expect it. -The screen has a glossy panel and can be a problem in well-lit rooms or working outside. -For a Creator laptop, it is quite sad to see that there isn't an SD card slot available. -The power brick is really comparable to a brick. It's quite heavy compared to other power bricks I have used. Overall, I think it may be the best laptop I've owned yet. I think MSI is really giving a lot for the money we are paying; it's great for those who want to use it for photo editing, music production, general use or light-moderate gaming. *For other international customers, the power brick does allow you to swop the cord to one that will fit directly into your wall outlet, with a range of 100V-240V*

Not Happy..scammed?

After some research, I decided on the MSI laptop the specs looked good for photo editing and possibly some light gaming. Once I receive the laptop I tested it out. I couldn't even play Roblox, the frames per second would drop down to three and I literally could not do anything. The lag and freezing made it impossible. I called support they said maybe I needed to update my drivers so I updated drivers and anything that I could possibly be updated. Still I was unable to play a simple game on Roblox. Also upon boot up everything would just spin and eventually load. I thought the real test would be to open Photoshop and test that out too. That gave me for the first time using Photoshop for the last 20 years that the GPU was invalid and there was so many errors that Photoshop would not even open on the laptop. My ipad pro plays Roblox flawlessly and also supports Photoshop and Lightroom apps with zero issues. At this point I decided there's a defect, possibly a quality control issue with the laptop so I wanted to return it and possibly get something different. There were also others reporting similar performance issues on Amazon. I called IPC Store once the laptop was confirmed received on 10/3 to their warehouse. They said they would review it to make sure everything was okay and then I should have my refund the following week, so I thought. I called today to see where my refund was. This is now 3 weeks later and they are trying to tell me that the serial number of the laptop that I sent back doesn't match the one that they sent me, that is complete and total BS. I believe I'm being scammed out of $1,400 by IPC store. I asked them to check it again because I only received one MSI laptop and returned only one MSI laptop. I am furious at the thought of losing $1,400 that I don't have now to find a replacement for my old Mac book Pro. Never will I ever recommend IPC store and never will I purchase from them again. And perhaps Amazon needs to vet their third party vendors a little bit better. I've always trusted buying from Amazon but guess what? This just soured me.
