Great monitor, but a bit fat and heavy and no audio-out mini-jack.

I am a big fan of Viewsonic monitors and this is roughly the tenth one I have bought over the years. The high, adjustable stand is great: this was the main reason for my choice of this monitor. That said, there were a few things about this particular monitor that surprised me which you should be aware of: (1) Unlike other Viewsonic monitors that I've bought recently, this does not have an external power supply: the mains cable attaches direct to the monitor. As a result, (a) the monitor is quite heavy and thicker than many Viewsonic monitors, (b) the base is super-heavy in order to make it stable with the weight on the monitor to support, and (c) the thick power cable makes adjusting the monitor height and position harder than on monitors with an external power unit and a thin low-voltage connecting cable. (2) Viewsonic has done away with the 3.5mm mini-jack audio in and audio out sockets. As a result, I could not connect my Amazon Basics external speakers in place of the tiny in-built speakers and ensure lip-sync on video. I tried plugging the speakers into my laptop but the lip-sync was poor compared to audio derived from the HDMI monitor connection to my old monitor. I therefore had to buy an HDMI Audio Extractor to insert in the HDMI connection ($19.99). I consider this to be penny-pinching on the part of Viewsonic. (They regard it as "design simplification".) Overall, I am very pleased with the performance of the monitor and its adjustability. I was just taken by surprise by the above differences versus my recent Viewsonic purchases.

good but lame speakers
By JCEL on Reviewed in the United States on September 2, 2020
This is to directly compete with Samsung's SH850. Difference from SH850: - Display Panel: IPS vs PLS - USB-C charge: 65W vs 45W. - DisplayPort daisy chain: No vs Yes - USB2 connection from computer: Yes vs No - Audio: lame speakers vs. Audio Out Jack - Eye care mode: not sure vs. Yes - Price: Same - Size/Resolution: Same Otherwise, other specs are similar. The stand on this looks a bit slicker, with a handle to carry. I picked this because it's got better review and slightly newer in release date, and the wrong info in its description that it's 75Hz. It's not 75Hz, just 60. Everything is great. I don't care about daisy chaining DP and the extra USB2 connection from computer is very nice. But then I decided to return it and get the SH850. Because for some reason, they decided they need to include speakers, but ones so lame that it's very far off even compare to my cheap laptop's built-in speakers. Literally I just want it to be loud enough, as loud as my incredibly cheap laptop's lamest speakers. I checked and all volume are set to 100%. If they don't want to include speakers that are just loud enough, at least just leave it out and include an audio out jack so I can add my own ones, that I don't need another wire plugging into the computer.
