ViewSonic VA2715-2K-MHD 27" 1440p LED Monitor

... it shouldn't take nearly an hour to set up a monitor! I bought this monitor as an inexpensive second 27" monitor for my home office, so I would have the same setup as work (where I deal with a lot of very detailed engineering drawings, large spreadsheets, and plant data displays). As such, it's a decent enough monitor. But there are a number of flaws with this thing. The set up instructions (which have to be downloaded, btw) are poorly written and confusing. That's why it took nearly an hour to set up. For one, there's reference to "keys" in them but there are no keys on the monitor. Once you can actually pull up the on-screen menu, it's a terror to get the hang of how it works. Also, it kept prompting me for a resolution mode my laptop doesn't have (was able to disable). Still not getting a good color match with the Windows background, but that's minor. Sound is medicore at best. Rather than buttons, it uses a rear-mounted joystick which I consider a serious design flaw. I can just see this thing breaking off. Why not just use good old-fashioned buttons? Reliability? The first one worked for about 10-15 minutes then it started alternating between blue, red, and green screens. Amazon was gracious enough to replace it within a week. ViewSonic tech support was not helpful. I do highly recomend my other monitor, the VA2719-2K-SMHD. None of these issues, but it isn't cheap.
