Nice cable modem providing WiFi, Ethernet, and phone outputs.
By RBWood on Reviewed in the United States on June 14, 2025
This cable modem provides high speed WiFi, Ethernet as well as phone service and is almost a direct replacement for the Xfinity modem. It is cheaper to own your own cable modem than to pay a monthly rental fee as long as you get 24 months of usage. The Netgear Nighthawk Multi-Gig Cable Modem works very well in our home providing both 2.4 and 5 GHz WiFi as well as a phone line. If you don't still have an old-school wired phone in your home you can buy a less expensive Netgear product. As any new modem router it takes some set-up effort, but Netgear has a good phone app that walks you through the process. I purchased a "renewed" one at about half the cost of a new one, with a 2 year extended warranty. Overall a very good deal.

Works for three months, then fails
By Henny Penny on Reviewed in the United States on February 21, 2025
First the pros: this was easy to set up, it works with Xfinity, and it provided a very fast and stable connection. But now the cons: after three months of use, this device now spontaneously loses its connection (even though Xfinity hasn’t been having any outages in my area) on average twice each week. I called customer service about this, but they told me that because all of my lights are on in the display panel, my issue is with the router. I called Ring customer service for assistance with my connection and everything always resets once we merely unplugged and reconnect the modem. So now, I do this at least twice each week. I’ve had this device since June and it began to fail in September. I’ve given up on calling customer service because it’s a joke and they don’t actually want to replace this. So I’m holding out for another few months for when my actual squaretrade warranty kicks in so that I can replace this POS modem which I will never purchase again. I’m switching back to Motorola next time or Arris. This device has been such a disappointment. I strongly recommend that you avoid.
