The ARRIS (S33-RB) Cable Modem, equipped with DOCSIS 3.1 technology, stands out as one of the top choices for anyone seeking to upgrade to a high-speed, future-proof home network. After extensive reviews and real-world testing, here’s what you can expect from this modem: Performance and Speed The S33 is built for speed, supporting cable internet plans up to 2.5 Gbps and even achieving download speeds of up to 3.5 Gbps in optimal conditions. It features both a 2.5 Gigabit Ethernet port and a standard 1 Gigabit Ethernet port, enabling multi-gig networking for demanding applications like 4K streaming, online gaming, and large file downloads. Users consistently report that the S33 delivers the full speed of their internet plans, with stable and reliable performance even under heavy load. Design and Compatibility This modem is notably compact and features a modern, curvy design that fits easily into most home setups. It’s compatible with all major U.S. cable internet providers, including Xfinity, Spectrum, and Cox, and works seamlessly with any Wi-Fi router, making it a versatile choice for various home networking needs. The setup process is straightforward, with many customers able to get online within minutes using their provider’s activation portal or app. Advanced Technology With DOCSIS 3.1 and backward compatibility with DOCSIS 3.0, the S33 ensures you’re ready for current and future internet speeds. The modem supports 32x8 channel bonding and 4 OFDM channels, providing robust throughput and minimizing speed fluctuations even when multiple devices are connected. It also includes features like a full capture bandwidth tuner and switchable upstream filters, enhancing flexibility and performance for both residential and small business users. User Experience Customers praise the S33 for its easy setup, compact size, and the immediate improvement in network speed and reliability compared to older modems. The modem’s design is also appreciated for its discreet footprint and modern look. However, some users note that the device can run warmer than larger modems, so it’s best placed in a well-ventilated area. There are occasional reports of issues with the companion app and rare compatibility quirks with certain routers, but these are not widespread. Well this unit would download but all upload streams were timing out, I’m supposed to get 25-40 upload and instead i was receiving 0.4, ping was high and jitter was at 90, my wifi cameras were buffering bad on my 6E mesh system i tried numerous speed test over a few days and i gave up.i bought a different brand modem for Xfinty and my new modem works perfect , apparently amazon chat claims a credit is quicker than refunding my money but that’s a lie, I’m going back to eBay or local shopping Looks like i will have to dispute charge if i don’t get refund, that’s Amazon selling renewed items which basically means used items, i should know better than buy renewed. Amazon received my item on July 1 and im still waiting for a refund!
