Unbelievable value

I have been using 4 of 5 ports for about 4 months now. About to fill the 5th. No issues, everybody talks to everybody. Very compact, a big plus for me.No brainer.

SG105 - Decent ethernet switch that's held up over a year, but the price doubled since then
By Jon N. on Reviewed in the United States on January 30, 2025
I've been using this switch for about a year now, and it's been solid. It's simple, and lets you plug 5 devices in from just a single ethernet run. This allowed me to run ethernet to the 3 computers in my home office, and even run a long Cat6 into my bedroom next door for a super fast connection on my Apple TV.My biggest complaint with this unit is the price - when I purchased this in late 2023, it was only $8, and at the time of writing this, the price has jumped to $16 for the same product. For $16, you can get switches with the same number of ports, plus a metal housing, from actual tried-and-tested networking brands for that price or less.If the price remains as high as it currently is, I definitely cannot recommend this switch. If it drops back down, it's on par with the rest of the cheap no-name plastic ethernet switches. Camelcamelcamel tells me that this item fluctuates between $10/$16 often, but just for that fluctuation alone I would be hesitant. Just this last October it was listed at $22, which is a massive ripoff.Overall, I would just look for another brand. It works fine, but for the seemingly shady business practices, I'm not loving this seller.
