Tp-Link AXE5400
By Fredsaw on Reviewed in the United States on December 6, 2025
I really regret not buying this TP-Link AXE5400 Wi-Fi 6E router earlier. The router from my internet provider only had two bands and a limited number of connected devices, which constantly caused issues. After switching to this router, those problems are completely gone. Now all my devices — and I have a lot of them — work perfectly stable with no random disconnects. I really love the tri-band setup. Smart home devices like cameras and robot vacuums run on the 2.4 GHz band, TVs, PlayStation, and gaming consoles use 5 GHz, and phones and laptops connect to the ultra-fast 6 GHz band. Everything is perfectly balanced and smooth. Setup was fast and easy, coverage is excellent throughout the house, and speeds are impressive on every band. Streaming, gaming, and working online all happen at the same time with zero lag or interruptions. This router has completely upgraded my home network. It’s powerful, reliable, and absolutely worth it. Highly recommended if you are tired of limitations from basic provider routers and want true Wi-Fi performance.

Decent quality: quirks, and more subscriptions....
By Mercy on Reviewed in the United States on August 16, 2025
Could use a bit of a stronger signal. But it does what it needs to. I am sometimes concerned with the data it provides. Like the delays on adding a device's information to the router's sheet. Making it harder to edit when a new device connects. The design is cute, colors are cute, but there is still concerns about weaker signals especially threw walls. This device doesn't offer you 'power levels' like some of the other (cheaper)devices do to boost your signal. It does offer a subscription service.. for something that should be automatic at the price point. But overall it's not too expensive.. but it should be able to handle more then a basic firewall at this level. I rate it 4 out of 5.. cause while it's a gamer router.. it does offer the boosted service for specific games.. but it does have a hard time identifying 'what games' are being played. But that "boost" doesn't really feel like it does anything.. (and yet they offer another subscription service for the 'boost' to be even stronger..) So, if you don't mind paying for 2-3 different services selected by the router.. go for it.. you don't 'need' them to use the router. By itself it appears to be remotely decent at handling it's business. The fact that preventing intrusions is subscription base, and BASIC standard security is all marked under subscription.. I am knocking off 2 stars. I have never seen a router needing a subscription for a standard firewall, ddos prevention, and spam attack prevention.. are often filtered out, and denied/blocked by 99% of routers on the market (all except yours.. which your charging for). Realistically, don't support people/companies who do this. I 'needed' a router, because the garbage the company gave me was well garbage.. and i didn't have the money for the higher end linksys. If you support companies who literally change the basic software to charge a premium, then you support them hijacking what EVERY OTHER COMPANY puts in their software/router FOR FREE! The 3 stars is for quality of the product, the build and design. Signal isn't the best and i still needed to use an extender despite living in a 1 floor flat with 2 bedrooms, apparently their 'merging' and automanaging of 2.5 and 5 causes problems with internet company signals and consistently causes cut-offs and dropped signals for devices right next to the router. If I had a little more money at the time, and knew ALL of this. I would of gone with something better, not something trying to con more money out of you once you buy their product, for basic and standard features..
