My favorite keyboard so far, but backlight doesn't stay on and requires a key stroke to go on.

In the past, I used the Logitech K800 lighted keyboard, and very much liked this keyboard. Unfortunately, they are no longer available, so I opted for this Logitech Keys S wireless keyboard that is also lighted. Although a bolt dongle is included, I opted to connect this keyboard via Bluetooth to avoid using a USB port on my computer, and connect it using the Logi Options software. I like the Logi Options software better than previous versions of Logitech keyboard/mouse software. 1) Connection of new devices is super easy when using either the Bolt dongle or Bluetooth. 2) When the software is opened, it shows you the connected devices and how much battery power is available on each device. 3) For Mice, it detects the mouse version and shows options and setting for the specific mouse. a) You can accept the default button settings or customize them to your preferences. b) You can select custom setting for a number of applications that are automatically set up for use when using each application. Previous version required manual setup for applications. 4) Device settings for all devices can be automatically backed up to the cloud. So you can restore setting for every device if you need to. 5) For keyboards, you can use the FN keys as standard function keys or assign them to specific tasks. 6) You can choose to use the backlighting feature or not. 7) You have the option to disable some of the keys, but I don't know why anyone would want to do this. 8) You can check what devices you have connected to the keyboard and which switch they are on. It took a bit of time to get used to the keys, but I have been using this keyboard for a few months, and now have no problem. Key strokes are comfortable and not clicky. I do love that this keyboard has a backlight, but it stays on only while you are typing. After a couple of seconds the backlight goes off, and you have to press a key to light it again or wave your hand over the keyboard. Depending on what you are doing, this can be a problem. As yet, I haven't found a setting to make the backlight stay on longer. Although you can increase the intensity of the backlight using the F7 key, this setting isn't retained if you turn the keyboard off. On the plus side, even using the backlight, I need to recharge this keyboard only once every couple of months with at least 5 hours a day of use. Another advantage is that you can use the keyboard while it is charging. I have had keyboard in the past that could not be used while charging. I also like that I can pair this keyboard for up to 3 devices and can switch between them. So, I can use it with my desktop and then switch to my Samsung tablet or my Microsoft Surface tablet as needed. Overall, I couldn't be happier with this keyboard and would recommend it. I hope this review was helpful for you.

Pretty Keyboard but has a lag time
By JohnnyT.80 on Reviewed in the United States on May 15, 2025
Purchased the Pale Grey/White colored Logitech MX Keyboard used. Package came in time with no issues. It was in it's original packaging with no dings, dents, or damage to the package or keyboard, it looks brand new out the box. Unfortunately it was missing the Logi USB unifying receiver I checked the box to make sure it wasn't rolling around at the bottom but nothing was found. Thankfully I have a Logitech mouse that has a Logi USB receiver already in my PC and it connected with the keyboard. If I didn't have this Logitech mouse I would've returned the keyboard for the missing USB receiver. 1 star deducted. Overall types smoothly and is low profile which makes it comfortable to type on. The sound when typing is not loud, my old gaming keyboard is mechanical so it was loud when I typed. This keyboard is much quieter. The keyboard color matches my Desktop setup see pics. It looks better then my black gaming keyboard I've had for over 10 years. It was time for an upgrade. This feature I am about to talk about might not be an issue to some people because I don't find it an issue but rather an annoyance/inconvenience at most. Still it's worth noting this feature. I notice a lag time in response with the keyboard when you first press on the keys and it would take a split second or two to recognize that I'm typing on the keyboard so I would have to re-press the key again to start typing. I would forget sometimes about this feature and would start typing and realize I've typed my word entirely wrong and have to retype the word because of the lag time to wake up the keyboard I thought it was a glitch but it's not and all the updates have been updated for the keyboard. Because it's a wireless keyboard Logitech develop a way to conserve the battery by basically letting the keyboard go into idle/sleep when it's not in use. Once you touch any kepad it will wake up and connect itself so you can start typing. Because of this feature which I find can be annoying for those who are working on the computer everyday and need to have a responsive keyboard for work might want to steer clear of this keyboard. For me it's not a major issue but rather an annoyance at times. I'm learning now to press the keypad once first to let it wake up and then start typing. I'm not always on the computer so I can deal with this. Since this feature can be either an annoyance I decided to drop another star hence the 3 stars. The Logi Options+ app should have a setting for the keyboard were we can choose a time to have it go into sleep mode or to turn the sleep mode feature on or off entirely. The battery might drain quicker if left on but that should be a decision for the owners to decide on usage of the keyboard. That would have been much better if Logitech did that. If I would have purchased this brand new with all items in the box (USB) and the sleep mode feature was able to be turned on/off this keyboard would be a 5 star keyboard. I hope Logitech updates this.
