Acer Aspire 5 15.6" FHD Slim Laptop

I bought this for school and it's been a great laptop, for the 3 weeks I've had it (other than only having 1 HDMI connection, which I didn't know I'd need 2 for the extra monitors I also bought). I'm taking 15 credits in college and basically have homework 7 days a week. Today, I put it in sleep mode to take a break. When I came back, it was pulsating (video) for almost 20 minutes. It seemed to be fine after that, but I contacted Acer and they said there was a defect and it should be replaced. So, I contacted Amazon and they can only refund the money to get a new one...AFTER I send the laptop back to them! That would mean about a week that I would have no laptop to do homework on. They suggested talking to Acer - again - which I did. They said that sales thru Amazon don't connect to Acer, so Amazon is the only one that can refund/replace the laptop. I am not able to do my assignments on computers at the college, as they require specific programs that are not able to be installed on public computers. So, my only option is to keep a defective laptop and PRAY it doesn't die on me while I'm still in school for the next 3 months. NOT COOL AMAZON !!! I will NOT buy another laptop or computer from Amazon EVER again.
