Good Chromebook
By Cat dad on Reviewed in the United States on October 16, 2023
Second time buying a Chromebook, and for a Chromebook this one is great! Yes there is a difference between these and laptops. I have a desktop pc which i do use, but for on the go I didn’t need the full power of a laptop but needed more than a tablet. I do a lot of writing, so having a good keyboard is a must, and the backlit feature is wonderful in my opinion. The sound quality is surprisingly good, and touchpad is responsive. Overall it’s a great product for what I need, without sacrificing anything.

Dead in less than 5 months
By CP on Reviewed in the United States on October 7, 2024
From the moment i purchased an Asus C100 i was in love. It was the perfect laptop! I've had that little notebook for nearly 10 years now and still use it to watch videos. But I wanted to update after nearly a decade and decided to buy another Asus flip computer. I chose the C434 which is a 14" flip touchscreen and for a while it was amazing! I loved this one as well.. the look, size, speed was all phenomenal. However one day in the middle of browsing the computer black screened on me. I couldn't believe it. For no apparent reason! It hadn't even been 2 years before it occurred.. what happened?? So after brooding on it for days I decided to try another one. This time I chose this particular one (Asus C425) since I couldn't afford to purchase another C434. Its very similar in size and features, the only thing different is the inability to flip into tablet mode which was fine since I barely used it that way. I was happy for 5 months until the same thing happened again.. What!! Mind you 5 months!! Another black screen while working on it. I was stupefied and angry. I called Amazon immediately to implore to no avail...30 days had passed so now it was a manufacturer issue. I was IRATE. I contacted Asus with some hope since it was only 5 months since it happened. But it turns out since I purchased this as a used product (or Open Box as Asus phrased it), warranty was limited to 90 days. Ughhh!! Seriously?? I was in disbelief. I am still in shock over everything. I realize buying from the warehouse involves some risk but a laptop shouldn't crash after 5 months??!! So now I am with 2 dead computers. I dont want to purchase through Amazon again, they couldnt care less. At least I still have my trusty C100.. It's at snails pace but at least it still functions.
