Refurbished and Running Well
By Lehrer on Reviewed in the United States on February 1, 2025
I wanted a Windows 11 capable desktop at a reasonable price. For surfing and email this configuration fit the bill. I was upgrading to a single new 2K monitor at the same time, purchased separately from Amazon. The Dell monitor I purchased has both display port and HDMI ports. The HP ProDesk 600 G4 i5 desktop that I received has 2 display ports and 1 VGA. I ordered one Benfei display port to display port cord on Amazon to prepare myself. That is what I utilized for audio and video connection to the lone monitor with stunning positive result. I cannot vouch for the adapters display port to HDMI, I didn't try one of those. This is the third refurbished HP desktop I have purchased through Amazon Renewed. Of the two Win 10 machines I have, one has been running 5 years and one has been running for 7 months. All three are from different companies. The set up of the new desktop was straightforward. The apps synched with no issues. The various updates took over a half hour, with the update to 24H2 taking about 20 minutes. From the outset of the installation I used an RJ45 ethernet cord for internet. It came with a WiFi USB. For headphones, I used my own Bluetooth USB device that I had on hand. I did not open the case. I checked on System and the fulfillment looked to be accurate. So ten days after setting this machine up, all is well.

Maybe a LEMON
By Andrew Damas on Reviewed in the United States on April 27, 2025
First off I work in IT and know a lot about managing pc’s. This machine does not have a wireless adapter / NIC installed. I had to run out a purchase a 50 ft Ethernet cable to get online. The machine worked nicely for about 5 days, and then experienced two Windows updates for WIN11, causing the system to crash and become unusable. I tried restoring the pc, but it continued to fail restore process. I created a WIN11 bootable ISO/USB device via Microsoft website. I finally reinstalled WIN11, which took this machine almost a full day to install. I am working on updates now. If it fails again, I will seek a return/refund. Update. I ended up having to reinstall Windows 10, install all relative updates, as well as a BIOS update. Following all Win10 updates, I went to Microsoft website and installed Windows 11. So far all updates for Win11 have installed correctly and the system seems stable. Update as of today, the internal 1TB hard drive is bad.
