It Does a Lot Better Than Using the XFI Router with the XFI Pods!!!!
By J. White on Reviewed in the United States on February 15, 2024
I was skeptical at first. Buying stuff from Amazon is sometimes hard because you see the good reviews for a product but then wonder if there is something to the low ratings. Everything sold on Amazon has that. It makes you second guess a purchase until it finally gets to you and you see for yourself if you made a wise selection. That said, this router was an excellent surprise. It was very easy to set up and it is blazing fast. This router give you control back. Xfinity, for instance, will not let you configure their router's WIFI channels. You can only reboot them and hope they get you on a better channel. With the Reyee E5 I have lots of control. Some of it requires you to need basic networking knowledge to keep from mucking things up but it gives you total control over your network (makes sense since they started as a networking company for businesses). The most important point is that it will give you a very strong signal. If it doesn't work for you you need to know where to place it to make the signal optimal. Plus they have signal extenders that make it so you have no dead spots in your environment. With Xfinity equipment would drop every day multiple times. Thus far this is not doing that. I will buy Reyee products going forward.

Reyee is a Chinese company, your data is not safe, not fully configurable.
By DataHaunt on Reviewed in the United States on July 17, 2023
Not disclosed anywhere in this product listing is the fact that Reyee is Chinese company. While many do not care, if you value your data and privacy, any such product is not for you. By law, the Chinese government has access to any data collected by a Chinese company. While Reyee offers cloud account and cloud-based features for management, and it is not seemingly active by default, there is so little in the way of configuration control in this router that you have no idea what is being sent to whom. If you use the app, you have to register for the cloud service. Use the browser instead. While they do advertise that there is no bundled security software, there are some other major items missing that are included with every router I have ever owned. You can “bind” or lock a device to a certain IP address, but you cannot name that device. Most devices do not register with a name but only a * symbol. Those that do register with a name are limited to full-blown OS installs and even then, the name will disappear given time. Even active devices connected by a switch may or may not show up but will drop off the list in a short time. Setting up a guest network is done by two different sections of the router for some reason and regular users will probably find it frustrating to find. The documentation is non-existent. Running the router thought several tests for leakage revealed none, but again, with such limited controls, you have no idea what is being sent where. The router defaults to using your ISP DNS and, again buried in the settings, you can configure another DNS, but there is no grantee that is what is being used. As a test, OpenDNS does see the local DNS set to them as being used when configured to use it. The main page will still state that your ISP DNS is in use. The signal strength is as advertised and covered all my in-house devices with no problem at all. Given the privacy concerns, the lack of configuration capabilities and basic missing features for management not to mention connected device management, it is worth it to pay $100 more or even double for a router with simple more features and established, reliable privacy policies.
