Easy set up with quality printing
By floridonna on Reviewed in the United States on June 2, 2025
After reading reviews I was pretty much okay with buying this model but did have some concerns from a couple of remarks. It arrived yesterday and nearly set itself up! Printing is easy. Yes, it seems to think (process) before it starts spitting out the printed items but it's not long at all. People need patience!! I was a little leery about putting the ink cartridges in, but I had step to step illustrations and instructions on the internet, so followed those. Almost didn't need them though as it was so easy. One thing I didn't realize but learned from reading reviews, perhaps conflicting brands can cause issues but I have an HP all in one so the two of them worked well together. I am pleased with the printed product as well. Keep in mind, I use this for home use only. The instant ink program seems like a decent offer as well so I will give that a go. Overall, I am very happy with this printer as I wanted all 4 features. Print, Scan, Copy, Fax My last HP printer lasted 12+ years. Hoping the same with this one.

Good, not great home office printer
By Nichola on Reviewed in the United States on March 10, 2025
The HP Officejet Pro 8135e is a multifunction all-in-one inkjet printer that is suitable for most home office applications. The printer is compact yet does have all the features that most users would expect; print, scan, copy and fax. The printer also contains an automatic document feeder. Set-up was fairly simple with the necessary application, though I don't like that it is required to continue to have the app to get full usage of the printer. This model also came with a bonus of 3 months of 'Instant Ink', another thing that you need the application for. It's a monthly subscription service that seems good in theory, as it would eliminate the need to worry about ink running out, but also, you're paying for a service for ink that you may never need. Also, I don't like that this is basically giving HP access to monitor all of the documents that I scan and/or print all in the guise of convenience. The other thing about this printer is that it requires the use of only HP branded and chipped cartridges, so if you were thinking that an aftermarket cartridge may be in your future plans, that won't work with this printer leaving your only budget-friendly option as the questionable subscription service. After set-up, the initial test sheet to align the printer heads and several prints after were not printed on a single sheet as the printer would grab several sheets at a time. That is both time and product-consuming and frustrating. One thing that it did do that was rather impressive was clear a paper jam nearly on its own. After notifying of the paper jam with instruction to open the tray, the printer kicked out the sheet. The printer and scanner speeds are about average for inkjet printers and suitable for most home offices.
