Honestly might be the best printer I’ve bought
By Sarah on Reviewed in the United States on July 12, 2025
Honestly might be the best printer I’ve bought for my business so far…I’ve had 4 but still lol. Setup was incredibly easy, held my hand through it all, the little screen is interactive and the gentle prompts are great. The printer itself is fast and the color is great…so far, great quality. Not sure of the ink capacity just yet but the new ink cartridges are precious lol I didn’t install them properly at first because they have a little spring now that I never saw before and the screen told me to try again. Great for an at home small business. Arrived within hours and I got a protection plan, too. Fantastic experience overall.

Unusable
By Gregory L. Richey on Reviewed in the United States on August 22, 2024
DO NOT BUY THIS PRINTER, OR ANY HP PRINTER. I cannot begin to catalogue the nighmare trying to use this thing has been. Every single time I need to print docs for a client closing--I am a solo lawyer--my biggest challenge is not negotiating, it is not drafting, it is not satisfying my clients, it is whether I am going to ever be able to print. The first one was defective, which I discovered after hours and hours on tech support calls, often in a strange, psychedelic dialogue with something called a "hybrid" agent, whose primary function is to slow the process and make every step as difficult, confusing and painful as possible. It is very effective at doing that, absolutely the only thing HP does well. So when I got the new printer, could I now just print? Silly me, of course not. I am the one who has to go through the extreme hassle of getting the new one, setting it up on a website that often doesnt work, then repacking and sending it pack. So could I just connect it. Lordy, that can't be allowed. No, HP's only concern, the animating force behind all of this, is that they must get paid for every possible microliter of ink. So they ship the replacement for their defective printer, without a $^$$^$#^$#^#D@$^##$^ printer head. Instead, I am now supposed to remove the one from the old printer and install it in the new one. Except when I did that, the new one gives me an error message that the cartridges from the old printer are not valid in the new one. Even though they are the brand new ones I just got from their instant ink program that they basically force you to use. Apparently, I made the mistake of installing the new cartridges in the printer head while is was still in the old printer and to HP's eyes that apparently contaminated them and they can now not be used in the new one. Tech support tells me now I must switch my Instant Ink account to the new printer, a rather salient fact they did not see to mentioned anywhere. Nor is there anywhere on their website I could find to do it online. And because of this monumental error I, silly me, made to put the new cartridges in the printer head while it was in the old printer, not the new one, the new printer is frozen, I can't get it online either. I have zero faith in ever getting the brand new cartridges to work, they have HP cooties now. I have clients coming for a closing tomorrow and HP's final tech response is to try to reach a different group when they open tomorrow, the Instant Ink team. And I am sure their hybrid agent will solve this all right away, first thing tomorrow morning. THIS IS INSANE. Run, flee, anything but DO NOT BUY THIS PRINTER
