Picture is beautiful

This is a great monitor. I have had a lot of Samsung monitors and TVs over the years, and I have been completely happy with them. This is no exception. This is my first curved monitor. The picture quality (DP) is outstanding! Ditto the HDMI. Downsides: 1) the VESA holes are in a weird place (I'd say about 1/4 of the way down), so mounting it has been an issue--bottom line, go for a taller arm. 2) it would be nice if it had more inputs. There are only two (DP and HDMI), so you're limited for inputs; 2 of each would have been nice. 3) The plugs for the cables are a bit difficult to get in, but how often do you unplug them? If that's important to you, then you should know that. That's it. Everything else was a great value for the money. Do note that I'm not a gamer. I cannot comment on that aspect. No flickering and the brightness is great.

Messed up image quality

Terribly blurry. Clearly something has gone wrong with this one. There is some terrible artifacting going on with however the screen is trying to render curved or sloped features, and trying to read through these visual defects with this screen was giving me a bad headache fast. White and dark bands would run through any curved text, for example, it was really ugly if there was a lot of text on the screen. I think there is some issue with how the monitor tries to smooth out objects at the pixel level, because the issue appeared most prominently on text or other visual features that were curved or sloped at any angles other than 0 and 90. Issue was apparent on any refresh rate, at the native resolution or any other. Google suggests Samsung had this issue with some of their monitors in 2021 as well. Tried replacing cables (HDMI and DisplayPort), tried factory reset, tried a firmware update, tried disabling all the monitor-level visual features, chatted with Samsung support, nothing resolved this issue. Pity, because it was on a good sale for Prime Day weekend, and my experience with Samsung is usually decent. Returning it, back to my old screen (which doesn't suffer the same issue at the same native resolution) until I can find a replacement that's satisfactory. Maybe it's a widespread issue, maybe I just got a lemon, but it seems this is a historical issue with Samsung monitors. Picture shows the white (and dark) bands running horizontally through the text. Really gets hard to read on size 12 fonts in a text block, like you'd see in a Word Document, Instruction Manual, or even an Amazon Store page.
